Why do I need Academic English?
Academic English is vital for both domestic and international students. It equips students with the necessary language skills to excel in academic settings, leading to higher academic performance. Studies continue to show that students who undertake Academic English courses, students who do consistently achieve higher marks.
International students are conditionally admitted to their chosen institution on English proficiency test scores. Once they arrive on campus, they are re-tested with “in-house” testing to determine if their proficiency level is adequate to perform successfully in class. The overwhelming majority of students are declined entry into their first year of studies and will not progress until they complete an English Preparation course. There is no legislation or laws regulating the tuition charged for these courses and are extremely expensive. For this reason, while EAP courses are invaluable, international students consider themselves “cash cows”.
While students take these courses, they are not able to work part-time jobs, and they cannot advance to their regular programs until they pass the EAP course. This can not only present unexpected tuition fees, they also throw off students’ study trajectories, adding months or years to earning a degree. As well, these departments are usually off-campus or in a segregated area limiting international students’ opportunities to meet and socialise with regular students on campus.

What happens if I miss classes?
Just like college and university, EFUAS has a strict Attendance and Camera Policy. To ensure an engaging and interactive learning environment, attendance is crucial, with a minimum requirement of 95%. We expect all students to keep their cameras on at all times during class sessions, and to refrain from other distractions like cell phones. Attendance is especially important because not attending classes in college or university can affect international students’ study visas.
I can just use AI or buy my papers online, why would I need this course?
For colleges and universities, upholding academic integrity is of utmost importance. EFUAS focuses their curriculum around this and, as in any college or university, any form of cheating or academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. Any form of cheating or academic dishonesty is a dangerous game. Students found violating these principles will be expelled from the class without a refund. Being expelled or put on probation will remain on a student’s academic record forever.

While we cannot offer college credits, EFUAS is one of the rare programs who validates a student’s attendance to an EAP program.

Can I get a refund if I fail or don’t like the course?
No. There is an initial registration deposit of $150 that is applied toward tuition. Neither the registration fee nor the tuition fee are refundable for any reason, so we encourage you to make an informed decision and seize this valuable opportunity.
Can I pay in instalments?
No, all tuition fees must be paid in full before the 30th of the month prior to the start of the student’s EFUAS course.
